Green Bay Packers Claim RB Christine Michael Off Waivers

Less than 24 hours after being cut by the Seahawks, Christine Michael has been claimed off waivers by the Packers.

According to ESPN's Mike Garafolo, running back Christine Michael is headed to Green Bay:

The 26-year-old was Seattle's leading rusher this season with 117 carries for 469 yards and six touchdowns. He started seven of nine games, filling in as the premier back after Thomas Rawls went down with a leg injury.

With the return of Thomas Rawls into the line-up, and the newfound love for RB C.J. Prosise—a more effective dual-threat then Michael—it was probably inevitable that Michael would lose his spot on the roster, despite his stellar performances throughout the season.

The Packers have been in desperate need of a three-down running back ever since Eddie Lacy was ruled out for the season with injury. With back-up James Starks just now being worked into the fold after recovering from an injury of his own, Michael could see a fair amount of touches from the get-go.

The Packers and Seahawks face off in Week 14, and you can bet Michael has that one circled on his calendar.
