Reigning NFL MVP Aaron Rodgers appeared to be resigned to not playing for the Packers again. That made it seem like Love would get his opportunity to take over for one of the greatest quarterbacks in NFL history.
Well, Rodgers has returned, but that hasn’t changed Love’s mindset. He’s still looking forward to getting on the field for his first game action in the near future.
“I’m super excited for it,” Love said, via Matt Schneidman of The Athletic. “The last time I played a game was the Senior Bowl coming out of college. Over a year and a half ago, I think. I’m super excited. This is the moment I’ve been preparing for even since last year. It’s almost like I’ve been training a year just for this first preseason game. I’m super excited to get out there and get back to playing ball.”
Jordan Love, who we’re speaking with in person for the first time since he was drafted, notes that preseason Week 1 against the Texans will be the first game he’s played in since the Senior Bowl. Safe to say he’s looking forward to playing in a game again. pic.twitter.com/LhDrtwv97I

Love will step on the field for the first time in a competitive setting since he was trying to impress NFL teams at the Senior Bowl.
It will be interesting to see if the extra reps with the first team offense while Rodgers was gone have helped the second-year quarterback.
