The Minnesota Vikings are locking down one of their star players for the next few years. After a career-year, wide receiver Adam Thielen has received his big pay day.

According to Thielen's agent, the Pro Bowl receiver has received a four-year deal worth $64 million, that can max out at $73 million. Per NFL insider Ian Rapoport, he gets $35 million guaranteed.

Thielen finished the 2018 season in the top ten of all major receiving categories. He had 113 receptions for 1,373 yards and nine touchdowns - all career highs.

For his efforts, Thielen earned a second-straight trip to the Pro Bowl.

The deal boosts Thielen's current salary from $5.85 million to upwards of $16 million per year.

Thielen was an undrafted free agent out of Minnesota Stake Mankato University in 2013. After only limited touches in his first two seasons, Thielen had a breakout season in 2016, leading the Vikings in receiving yards that year.

But 2018 was where Thielen really proved his worth. After making the Pro Bowl in 2017, Thielen began his 2018 campaign with five straight games of 100 receiving yards or more, the most by any player to start a season in the Super Bowl era.

Thielen's streak of 100-plus yard games went all the way through Week 8, tying him with Calvin Johnson for most consecutive weeks with 100-plus yards, and setting a new record for consecutive games with 100-plus yards to start a season.
