The Atlanta Falcons continue to get struck by the injury bug, as Devonta Freeman could be the next star on their roster to miss time on the field.

After losing both Deion Jones and Keanu Neal to IR, the Falcons can't really deal with another injury. While a victory against the Panthers this Sunday would certainly change the mood around the clubhouse, Steve Sarkisian's offense might be without their top running back.

Freeman missed practice again today, as he nurses an injured knee.

If Freeman is inactive this weekend, expect Tevin Coleman to shoulder the load in the backfield. Coleman only had 45 scrimmage yards in Week 1 against Philadelphia, but he did record Atlanta's lone touchdown. Even though Dan Quinn hasn't ruled out Freeman yet, his playing status is trending downward for Sunday. Hopefully for Atlanta, their Pro Bowl running back isn't out of action for an extended period of time. UPDATE: Dan Quinn just informed the media that Freeman will be inactive for this Sunday.

While the Falcons would obviously rather have Freeman on the field, it's great to hear that there's no structural damage to his knee.
