The Falcons earned just their fourth win of the season with a blowout victory against the Panthers on Sunday. The win moves Atlanta to 4-9. It’s been a rough season for Matt Ryan and Co.
Things won’t get any easier for the veteran QB. Calvin Ridley is out for the season after suffering an abdominal injury on Sunday.
Ridley took to Instagram to post an injury update himself on Monday afternoon.
“Thank you for all of your prayers and well wishes,” Ridley said on Instagram. “I am doing well, unfortunately I’m out for the rest of the season, but I’ll be back next year.”

It’s an unfortunate setback for Ridley who was having a terrific second year in Atlanta. The receiver finishes the 2019 season with 63 receptions for 866 yards and seven touchdowns.
The injury comes at an unfortunate time. Ridley was just starting to find a groove in the Falcons’ offense. In his last four games combined, Atlanta’s receiver had 27 catches for 395 yards and three touchdowns. He’ll look to continue that impressive streak of play in 2020.
The Falcons will finish out the regular season with contests against the 49ers, Jaguars and Buccaneers. It’ll be interesting to see what changes the organization makes during the off-season.
