One NFL head coach has already been fired this season, as the Washington Redskins fired Jay Gruden earlier this month. Could another firing be on the way?

It looks like it.

The Atlanta Falcons were blown out by the Los Angeles Rams, 37-10, on Sunday afternoon. The Falcons dropped to 1-6 on the season with the loss.

Analysts are now calling for head coach Dan Quinn to be fired as soon as Monday.

It was a brutal day for the Falcons, as NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport summed up. "The Falcons reality: Coach Dan Quinn’s job status is in focus, they are down 27 to the Rams at home, their RB Devonta Freeman was tossed for fighting and QB Matt Ryan was ruled out to return with an ankle injury," he tweeted.

Falcons owner Arthur Blank commented on his head coach's status before today's game.

"We understand the frustration of our fans, we're more than sympathetic," Blank told NFL Network. "We're walking in their shoes. I'm with them. Because the expectations were different from where we are right now. When you differ that dramatically from expectations, it's always that much more disappointing."

Blank did not comment on a potential timeline for a decision. Some have suggested the Falcons' bye week in two weeks could be the time to make a move.

"I don't think that's fair," Blank said. "I don't have any specific timetable. Just looking at each game one at a time. It's the bye week, yes, but it's not a trigger for making any changes. We'll just continue to look at what we see developing and continue to support the coach and support the general manager and continue to ask them to do everything they can to put some wins up on the scoreboard."

Blank added that he expected to see some changes on Sunday against the Rams. That didn't happen, of course. We'll see if Blank's timeline is sped up because of it.
