When the Atlanta Falcons take the field this Sunday for a game against the Seattle Seahawks, they could be without star quarterback Matt Ryan.

Ryan left Sunday's game with an ankle injury after a hit from Rams defensive tackle Aaron Donald.

Earlier this week, head coach Matt Quinn revealed Ryan wouldn't be on the practice field for the first practice of the week.

A day later, he's still not ready to go. According to a report from NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport, the Falcons are getting "Matt Schaub ready to go," as Ryan still nurses his ankle injury.

The Falcons entered the season with playoff aspirations, but a combination of injuries and poor play have derailed that hope.

Just seven weeks in the season, the Falcons are better positioned for the No. 1 overall pick in the 2020 draft than they are for a playoff berth.

At 1-6 on the season, Atlanta shipped wide receiver Mohamed Sanu to the New England Patriots for a second-round pick. The move came after the team's loss to the Los Angeles Rams this weekend - the team's fifth-straight loss.

Atlanta faces off against one of the best quarterbacks in the league in Russell Wilson this Sunday. We'll have to wait and see if Ryan is able to go.
