For the past two weeks, Julio Jones has been the most-talked about player in the NFL due to his trade demands. It seems like there’s a new report about the All-Pro wideout almost every hour.
That being said, the latest report involving Jones includes what the Atlanta Falcons are hoping to land in return for him.
Yahoo insider Charles Robinson is reporting that Atlanta wants a first-round pick in any trade involving Jones. Though it may seem like a steep price, there may be a team that’s willing to make that deal.
Robinson also mentioned that Jones might want a new contract after he’s traded. If that’s true, that could complicate things.
“From what I’ve been told, the price for Julio Jones in talks with at least one team was a first round pick, plus players,” Robinson tweeted. “That’s steep and I have a hard time believing the Falcons get that. And there’s also the reality that Julio may want a new deal, too.”

Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk had a similar report on Monday regarding Jones’ desire for a new contract.
“The question is whether he’ll want a new deal on the way in, or whether he’ll want one after the 2021 season,” Florio wrote. “Either way, the notion that the Jones contract is attractive because an elite player can be gotten for $12.775 million per year over three years overlooks the reality that, sooner than later, Jones will want his contract to be adjusted — especially if he has a huge first year at his next destination.”
Even if Jones wants a new deal, there’ll be plenty of teams interested in acquiring him. In just nine games last season, the veteran wide receiver had 51 receptions for 771 yards and three touchdowns.
