Cam Newton Did Not Start Tonight's Game For Disciplinary Reasons

Well, this week's Sunday Night Football game got off to an interesting start.

Carolina Panthers quarterback and reigning league MVP Cam Newton began the game on the bench. Backup Derek Anderson got the start.

On the first play from scrimmage, Anderson threw an interception.

According to the radio broadcast and other reports, the decision to bench nNewton was due to disciplinary reasons.

Anderson's turnover led to a Seattle field goal. Newton is in now to begin Carolina's second drive.

This was all very, very odd.
