Davis’ punishment has been issued.
It was obvious that Carolina Panthers linebacker Thomas Davis’ helmet-to-helmet hit on Green Bay Packers wide receiver Davante Adams was going to merit some sort of discipline from the NFL. It was just a matter of how much the league would punish him.
Now we know. Davis is being suspended for the final two games of the regular season, the NFL announced moments ago.
The veteran defender is reportedly appealing the decision.

If Davis’ suspension is reduced to one game, he’ll sit out this Sunday’s contest against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers before returning in Week 17 against the Atlanta Falcons. The Panthers sit at 10-4 and own one of the NFC Wild Card spots.
The 34-year-old Davis has recorded 66 tackles and 2.5 sacks for Carolina so far this season.
