When the Carolina Panthers take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in London on Sunday, the most electric player in the league will be active. Despite being on the injury report, Christian McCaffrey is good to go for this weekend.
On Wednesday, the Panthers announced that McCaffrey missed practice due to a back injury. Fortunately for the team, it doesn’t sound like a major concern.
NFL Network’s Tiffany Blackmon is reporting that McCaffrey’s back is a little sore. His status for this weekend’s game won’t be affected by this injury though.
Blackmon also said that McCaffrey will be off on Wednesdays moving forward.
McCaffrey has carried the Panthers on offense this season. It makes sense for the coaching staff to rest him during the week in order to keep him healthy.
Here is what Blackmon had to say about McCaffrey’s back injury:
How's Christian McCaffrey doing? Coach Ron Rivera told me CMC's back is a little sore, but he is doing just fine. He did not practice yesterday, but Rivera said that the "Wednesday off day" is the new norm for CMC #keeppounding pic.twitter.com/h9voFjbyEA

Last weekend, the Stanford product had over 200 scrimmage yards and three touchdowns against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Carolina has won three-straight games in large part because of McCaffrey. He’s firmly in the race for this year’s MVP award because of his contributions as a running back and receiver.
Fans in London will get the chance to watch McCaffrey up close this weekend.
