Drew Brees will not be able to help the New Orleans Saints during today’s game, but he did his best to provide pregame motivation.
Brees is still on the mend from a thumbT injury he suffered in Week 2. He’s making progress, but isn’t ready to return.
Before his teammates took the field to face the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Brees broke things down in the huddle. He even used a vintage pregame chant.
“When I say 9, you say 10. When I say win, you say again. … 9! 10! Win! Again!”

The Saints have fared well without Brees, as Teddy Bridgewater has stepped up and the team’s defense has been stellar. Still, New Orleans fans had to be encouraged by the video Brees shared on Instagram yesterday.
It featured the veteran quarterback throwing a football in drills with his injured right hand.
The Saints (3-1) lead the NFC South, with the Bucs and Panthers one game back at 2-2. The Falcons are 1-3 and in last place.
New Orleans and Tampa Bay are underway in the Superdome.
