Drew Brees is still considered “questionable” to return in today’s game with a thumb injury. But judging by how much trouble he’s having on the sidelines, it’s seeming less and less likely that he’ll be back.
FOX sideline reporter Erin Andrews reported that she was told at halftime that Brees “simply could not grip the ball.” To accentuate the point, FOX showed footage of Brees trying to grab a football.
Unfortunately, Brees could not even pick the pigskin up off the bench without it falling out of his hands.
Brees was injured in the first half when his hand struck a Rams defender after releasing the ball.

The Saints have since turned to backup quarterback Teddy Bridgewater, who has been efficient but unremarkable. He has completed 9-of-15 passes for 77 yards, and even added a handful of rushing yards.
But Bridgewater has been unable to move the offense much. New Orleans has been held to just six points through three quarters.
It’s a tall order to march down the field against Aaron Donald and the Los Angeles Rams even with Brees at the helm.
Hopefully the injury isn’t serious, but it certainly looks like Brees may be done for the day.
