One of the biggest stars in the NFL has suddenly emerged on his team’s injury report. The New Orleans Saints could be without Alvin Kamara this weekend due to an ankle issue.
With Drew Brees already out for the next few weeks, the Saints have relied mainly on Kamara. He’s an elite playmaker that can run between the tackles and make explosive plays in the screen game.
New Orleans revealed on Thursday that Kamara was limited in practice because of an ankle injury.
To make matter worse for the Saints, the former third-round pick wasn’t present during practice on Friday when it was open to the media. Sean Payton also refused to comment on his star tailback’s condition.
Saints RBs Alvin Kamara and Latavius Murray were both absent from the portion of Friday’s practice open to the media – but Sean Payton clarified that Murray was not injury related. Kamara popped up on the injury report with an ankle Thursday. Payton declined to elaborate on him.

At this point it doesn’t sound good for Kamara’s availability this weekend. However, it’s possible that New Orleans is just being cautious.
In the event that Kamara isn’t healthy enough to play on Sunday, the Saints will have to rely mostly on Latavius Murray. He signed a four-year contract with the team this past offseason.
The timing of this injury isn’t great for the Saints, especially since the offense is operating without Brees.
Kamara’s game status for this weekend against the Jaguars will be revealed in the coming hours.
