On Tuesday afternoon, the Carolina Panthers released former MVP quarterback Cam Newton, ending his nine-year run with the team.
Before the news dropped, ESPN’s NFL insider Adam Schefter reported Newton heard positive results from a physical he underwent this week. Minutes later, Newton became a free agent.

“He’s healthy and they released himWant a year or 2 to make sure?” Jordan said on Twitter. “Adjust throwing if needed? Need a [team] with a dynamic top tier [running back]? [Wide receiver]? Cemented OFFENSIVE LINE? idk how to do his text prompt style so hopefully this reaches…”

A foot injury cost Newton the final 14 games of the season – what would be his last in Carolina.
Now he becomes one of the top free agent quarterbacks on the market.
Will the Saints make a run at him?
