Arguably the hottest team in football could have reinforcements on the way. When the New Orleans Saints take the field on Sunday, they could have Drew Brees and Alvin Kamara at their disposal.

Brees has missed the last five games due to torn ligaments in his thumb. Teddy Bridgewater has filled in admirably for the Saints over the past month.

New Orleans hasn't revealed who will start at quarterback this weekend, but it appears Brees is just about ready to go.

For the second-straight day, the Saints had Brees at practice in a limited capacity. All that really matters is that he doesn't suffer a setback.

As for Kamara, the versatile tailback returned to practice for the first time in over a week. He missed last Sunday's game against the Bears because of a sprained ankle.

The Saints were also fortunate to have Eli Apple as a full participant during Thursday's practice.

With the bye week almost here for the Saints, it's possible that Sean Payton gives Kamara and Brees an extra week off. On the other hand, the team has stated multiple times that it will not take any opponent lightly.

Expect the Saints to release game statuses for each player on the injury report this Friday.
