The New Orleans Saints were quite busy on Thursday night. Not only did they draft Chris Olave and Trevor Penning, they re-signed one of their veteran wideouts.

According to ESPN insider Field Yates, wide receiver Deonte Harty, previously known as Deonte Harris, signed his restricted free agent tender with the Saints.

As part of this deal, Harty will earn $3.986 million for the 2022 season.

Harty played a significant role for the Saints in 2021, hauling in 36 passes for 570 yards and three touchdowns. Let's also not forget that he's an All-Pro kick returner.

Since entering the league in 2019, Harty has totaled 1,770 yards on kickoff returns. He's a lethal weapon in open space.

Now that Olave is on the roster and Michael Thomas is inching closer to being 100 percent, Harty should have more room to operate in New Orleans' offense.

If Harty plays well this fall, he could receive a lucrative contract next offseason.
