The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have decided to pick up the fifth-year option on linebacker Devin White.
Tampa Bay announced the move via Twitter on Wednesday morning.
White has spent the last three seasons with the Bucs and is coming off another phenomenal year. He finished the 2021 season with 128 total tackles (87 solo), 3.5 sacks, and three passes defended.
He was one of their best run stuffers and they'll be relying on him to have that level of production again in 2022.
White's 2020 season was even better than his 2021 season. He finished that year with 140 total tackles (97 solo), nine sacks, one forced fumble, a fumble recovery, and four passes defended.
He'll look to try and stay at this level as he could be signed to a long-term deal after this season is up.
This is the sixth year in a row that the Bucs have chosen to pick up a fifth-year option on a former first-rounder, per the team's official website.
