Tom Brady and Donald Trump became friends in the early 2000s. However, their friendship started going south due to their vastly different diets.

In the book "This Will Not Pass: Trump, Biden, and the Battle for America's Future" by Jonathan Martin, he detailed the rift between Brady and Trump.

"The football star, Trump said, had not been the same after marrying Gisele Bündchen, who insisted on cooking him a painstakingly health-conscious diet," Martin wrote.

Brady is known for having one of the most strict diets in sports history. Once he hired Alex Guerrero as his trainer, he developed a consistent diet and recovery routine.

In 2020, Brady opened up about his relationship with Trump. He explained why he distances himself from the former president.

"It was uncomfortable for me because you can't undo things, not that I would undo a friendship, but political support is a lot different than the support of a friend," Brady said on Howard Stern's Sirius XM show, via Insider.

We'll see if their relationship changes now that Brady is retired.
