Watt, who is dealing with a shoulder injury, missed all three practices this week. Though he’s as tough as they get, the Cardinals have officially ruled him out for Thursday night’s game against the Green Bay Packers.
Perhaps the Cardinals would’ve had Watt at their disposal if they weren’t on a short week. Instead of rushing him back on the field, the Cardinals will give him at least 10 days to rest his shoulder.
Arizona might be without wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins this Thursday night as well. He’s listed as questionable with a hamstring injury.

Watt’s absence will certainly impact the Cardinals’ defensive line. He currently has 16 total tackles, 10 quarterback hits, a sack and a forced fumble this season.
Fortunately for the Cardinals, there are some reinforcements on the way. Earlier this week, the team activated Zach Allen and Chandler Jones from the Reserve/COVID-19 list.
“It’ll be a great boost to get those two guys back,” Kingsbury said, via the Cardinals’ official website. “Hopefully they can pick up where they left off.”
The Cardinals will try to improve their record to 8-0 for the first time in franchise history. Kickoff is at 8:20 p.m. ET on FOX and NFL Network.
