All eyes were on Kyler Murray this afternoon as the No. 1 overall pick made his third start this preseason. Following a subpar performance last week, the former Oklahoma star showed signs of improvement on Saturday.
Murray promised the fans in Arizona that changes were coming this week. He told the media that Kliff Kingsbury would open up the playbook for the third week of the preseason.
It appears Murray wasn’t kidding about the Cardinals showing different looks on offense. As you’d expect, the coaching staff didn’t show every wrinkle in their offensive scheme.
Of course there are still areas where Murray needs to improve, but his overall performance on Saturday had to be encouraging for Arizona.
Murray finished 14-of-21 for 137 passing yards and an 84.8 rating. The dual-threat quarterback had more success through the air than on the ground.
Here are a few of his best passes from this afternoon:

This season will be a learning process for Murray, who has to adjust to the speed of the NFL.
Arizona could keep Murray out of action for the preseason finale. Most teams hold out their starters in preparation for Week 1 of the regular season.
If this was the last time we’ll see Murray this preseason, then his next appearance will be against the Lions.
