On Friday night, Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Brandin Cooks sent a message that had fans worrying about his future with the team.
Cooks sent a message on Twitter, saying “Free me.” For some context, Cooks has been the subject of trade rumors over the past few weeks.
As the Rams enter the 2020 season, they do so with very little draft capital. NFL analysts around the country mentioned Cooks as a potential trade candidate so the team can add a few more draft picks.
Unfortunately for the conspiracy theorists out there, one of Cooks’ teammates clarified his comments. Fellow wide receiver Cooper Kupp responded to Cooks’ tweet noting that his teammate is just frustrated with being inside all the time.
“From quarantine. (Just to clarify),” Kupp said on Twitter.

Not even NFL stars are immune to going a little stir crazy after a few weeks inside their homes.
Cooks has been one of the most underrated wide receivers since he entered the league in 2014. He rattled off four-straight seasons with at least 1,000 receiving yards from 2015-18 – three of which came on different teams.
He battled concussions during the 2019 season, but still saw the field in 14 of the Rams’ 16 games. Cooks racked up 42 receptions for 583 yards.
Can he get back to his dominant ways in 2020?
