The Los Angeles Rams acquired Stafford from the Lions for one reason: to try and win a Super Bowl. Those sky-high aspirations fall on the shoulders of the veteran quarterback.
Stafford gave his heart and soul to the city of Detroit, but the Lions never surrounded him with a championship roster. Well, there are no excuses in Los Angeles. The Rams are a legitimate championship contender, but their success will ultimately be predicated on Stafford’s play.
Stafford, as a result, is the quarterback “under the most pressure” this upcoming season, according to Leaf.

Matthew Stafford and the Rams have a tough road ahead. The NFC West is shaping up to be an absolute slug-fest.
The Seattle Seahawks will always be a contender as long as Russell Wilson is under center. The Arizona Cardinals are on the rise, especially after they acquired J.J. Watt earlier this year.
The real mystery team is the San Francisco 49ers, who are just under two years removed from breezing their way through the NFC before falling to the Chiefs in the Super Bowl.
Stafford has spent his entire career in the NFC North up to this point. The NFC West will be a whole new challenge.
Will Stafford live up to expectations? We’ll find out later this fall.
