Los Angeles Rams running back Todd Gurley, who suffered a knee injury last weekend, will not play today according to a new report.

Gurley's status was up in the air throughout the week, but there was hope he would be able to give it a go against the Arizona Cardinals this afternoon. However, that won't be happening, per ESPN's Lindsey Thiry.

Thiry is reporting that Gurley is out today. The Rams should confirm his status soon when they release their inactives.

Earlier today, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported that the Rams were planning on having Gurley available today.

It is unclear if he suffered a pregame setback, or if the Rams just decided to err on the side of caution.

The Rams will take on the Cardinals at 4:05 p.m. ET. LA should be able to win this game even without Gurley, but his absence could have a major impact on fantasy football rosters on championship weekend.

With Gurley sitting out, newly-signed C.J. Anderson and rookie John Kelly should see plenty of work.
