The Los Angeles Rams are placing CB Aqib Talib on injured reserve due to a rib injury, according to a new report.
The injury kept Talib out of Sunday’s game against the 49ers. Los Angeles lost 20-7 to fall to 3-3 on the season.

This is rough news for Los Angeles and its fans. Talib has been a key piece of an elite Rams defense for the past two seasons, playing in 15 games including five starts this season.
Talib also missed time in 2018 due to a different injury. He underwent ankle surgery, which cost him nine games. Talib returned in Week 13, helping the Rams on their playoff run before falling to the Patriots in the Super Bowl.
The 33-year old is in his 13th season in the NFL. He’s been selected to the Pro Bowl five times during his career.
Los Angeles currently sits at 3-3, good for third place in the NFC West. The division is considered the toughest in the entire league. The 49ers currently sit atop the division at 5-0, while the Seahawks are just a game behind at 5-1.
The Rams are coming off a tough loss to San Francisco on Sunday. It was one of Jared Goff’s worst professional performances of his career.
It’s still early, but the Rams need to get things figured out quickly to keep up with San Francisco and Seattle.
