It was reported this Wednesday that Deebo Samuel requested a trade from the San Francisco 49ers. His market should be fairly strong, but don't expect the Kansas City Chiefs to make a huge offer at this time.

According to NFL insider Josina Anderson, the Chiefs are currently focused on the NFL Draft.

"When requesting a trade (like Deebo Samuel has, though not guaranteeing move) you always garner feedback from the market. Regarding the #Chiefs, a league source told me while Samuel is regarded as highly talented, the team is not actively pursing him currently*, focused on Draft," Anderson tweeted.

The Chiefs have a need at wide receiver since they dealt Tyreek Hill to the Miami Dolphins. However, they may not want to give Samuel the money that he's commanding.

For that reason alone, it makes sense that Kansas City isn't all in on San Francisco's All-Pro playmaker.

"Yep, using some market logic here: Though KC has the capital for a big trade, reason they have it is because they didn't want to pay top-of-market money to Tyreek Hill," Tim Kawakami of The Athletic said. "Tough logic to turn around few weeks later & pay it to Deebo AND give up capital. Why not just keep Tyreek?"

If the Chiefs aren't pursuing Samuel, where might he land? Some fans believe the Packers make the most sense for him.

Others, however, believe he'll end up on the New York Jets.

Samuel had a breakout season in 2021, racking up 1,770 yards from scrimmage and 14 touchdowns.

The 49ers won't consider moving on from Samuel without getting a nice haul of draft picks in return.
