The San Francisco 49ers are expected to select a quarterback with the No. 3 overall in the upcoming NFL Draft. Although the front office hasn't given any hints as to which player its leaning toward taking, ESPN analyst Matt Miller is confident that Mac Jones will be the pick.

During an appearance on the Dan Patrick Show, Miller was asked if 49ers traded up just to take Jones. He didn't hesitate at all when it came to answering that question.

"Absolutely, I do. As a lifelong Niners fan, that's such a punch to the stomach," Miller said. "I'm trying to trust John Lynch and Kyle Shanahan, but I remember when they said they didn't need a quarterback and they passed on Patrick Mahomes and Deshaun Watson only to pick up CJ Beathard in the third round. I'm still a little gun-shy about trusting this front office. This just feels like something they'd do."

If Jones is the pick for the 49ers, Miller is a bit unsure why the front office would move so high up the board.

"They didn't have to go to three, Dan. I don't think they did. Now maybe to seven or six, but I don't think you needed to go from 12 to three to get Mac Jones."

Lynch and Shanahan were in attendance for Jones' pro day at Alabama, but that doesn't necessarily mean they'll draft him.

Justin Fields and Trey Lance are also being linked to San Francisco this offseason. They didn't put up the numbers that Jones did in 2020, but they're dual-threat quarterbacks that can take Shanahan's offense to the next level.

Who do you think the 49ers will select with their first-round pick?
