Through one half, tonight’s game between the San Francisco 49ers and Seattle Seahawks has resembled the defensive battles these rivals waged against each other in the early part of the decade.
San Francisco leads 10-7 at intermission, and the Niners defense has dominated thus far. San Fran has shut down Seattle’s running game, sacked Russell Wilson twice and also registered a sensational takeaway right as the Seahawks were driving in to take the lead before halftime.
Seattle’s only touchdown of the half came on a fumble return by Jadeveon Clowney after Niners quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo was stripped of the ball. Garoppolo previously put San Francisco ahead 10-0 on a touchdown pass to Kendrick Bourne, after kicker Chase McLaughlin converted a 43-yard field goal to open the scoring.
ESPN has unveiled its prediction for the second half. The computer likes the Niners.
San Francisco currently has a win probability of 71.8 percent heading into the third quarter.
The second half of 49ers-Seahawks will start momentarily. Seattle is trying to hand San Francisco its first loss of the season.
