The San Francisco 49ers will be wearing new uniforms this upcoming season.

The Bay Area NFL organization announced notable updates to its home and road jerseys on Monday.

The 49ers' updated jerseys feature a Saloon-font "49ers" on the front right above the player numbers. The new look also includes three white stripes on the shoulder pad.

Take a look.

The new look is a nod to the past. Fans have long wanted the team to incorporate more classic elements into the modern jerseys. The team was clearly listening.

"The San Francisco 49ers unveiled multiple updates to their standard home and away uniforms, fulfilling years of fan requests to bring back design elements from the historic uniforms made famous during the 1980s and 90s," the team announced, via 49ers.com. "Most noticeably, the classic and beloved Saloon font has been restored as the organization's primary wordmark and will be seen on standard home and away jerseys, 49ers helmet and branding moving forward."

These changes may be small, but they'll make a pretty significant difference on the field.
