Usually, at this point in the football year, the rumor mill is spinning at a dizzying pace for the upcoming NFL Draft. Today, we had a flurry of info surrounding an established star already in the league: Arizona Cardinals cornerback Patrick Peterson.

Peterson has been rumored to be on the move before. The Cardinals are rebuilding, and the 28-year-old eight-time Pro Bowler has been looked at as a potential target for contending teams.

This all started with a since-deleted tweet by former NFL wide receiver Antonio Bryant saying that Peterson would be going to the Kansas City Chiefs. Pro Football Talk quickly debunked this rumor, but added that "something" was going on with Peterson.

Well now. That's a surefire way to get the juices flowing on social media. Too bad PFT shot down its own report with more info from a source moments later.

Here's a quick recap of everything that did or didn't happen with Peterson today.

So, in summary, Peterson isn't going to Kansas City but he might not be staying put but for now it looks like he is.

Got it?
