Former Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant remains a free agent. The star wideout was released by the organization in mid-April after eight seasons with the team.
There were rumors about a possible relationship between the Cleveland Browns and Dez. With the uncertain futures of Browns wide receiver Antonio Callaway and Josh Gordon, it would make sense the team looks for depth at the position.
However, it doesn't seem like they'll bring in Bryant. NFL insider Peter King was asked where the Browns should look for receiver help.
He suggested recently released Jordan Matthews.
Matthews was released by the New England Patriots earlier this offseason after suffering an injury. According to Peter King, however, the injury does not appear to be serious.
Browns wide receiver Jarvis Landry has been recruiting Dez Bryant to the team, but those efforts don't appear to be panning out.
Cleveland takes on the New York Giants tonight for their first preseason game.
