On Wednesday morning, the Baltimore Ravens agreed in principle to a deal with the Denver Broncos that would send quarterback Joe Flacco to Denver in return for a mid-round pick. According to a report from Ian Rapoport, the Broncos are searching for trade partners for Case Keenum after the Flacco trade.
So where could Keenum go? Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk, made a wild claim that the Minnesota Vikings remain an option, if the team can trade Kirk Cousins.
Keenum played for the Vikings before signing a two-year deal with the Broncos ahead of the 2018 season. If the Vikings make a trade for Keenum, they would have to find a trade partner for Kirk Cousins.
So who would take Cousins in Florio's scenario? Three teams are on the table
- Cincinnati Bengals
- Jacksonville Jaguars
- New York Giants
All three teams have various connections to Cousins in some way and would provide a new experience for the former Pro Bowl quarterback.
Cousins completed a career-high 70-percent of his passes this season for 30 touchdowns and just 10 interceptions on the year. However, Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer appears devoted to the run, which could result in the team moving on from Cousins.
With his hefty price tag, a Cousins trade doesn't seem likely, though.
