NFL Player Spotted Crying During The National Anthem On Sunday
His team may not be playing for much in Week 18 but one Carolina Panthers player was overcome with emotion during Sunday's national anthem.
Prior to 1 PM ET kickoff in Atlanta, Panthers defensive lineman A'Shawn Robinson had tears streaming down his face as "The Star-Spangled Banner" rung out at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
Fans reacted to Robinson's pregame passion online.
"A touching BAMA in the NFL moment. Carolina Panthers defensive tackle A'Shawn Robinson teared up during the National Anthem, prior to the game in Atlanta against the Falcons," WVUA 23's Gary L. Harris replied.
"A'Shawn Robinson tearing up during the anthem! We see you big dog!! Keep Pounding!!! Kick some Falcon butt today," a user said.
"A'Shawn Robinson playing with a purpose. Always consistent, he's been taking it up a notch today in terms of the intensity," John Ellis posted.
Robinson has been one of the Panthers' most productive players this season with 75 tackles, 5.5 sacks and a forced fumble in his 15 appearances with the Cats.
It's been a pretty interesting weekend for national anthem performances. With many loving Craig T. Nelson's rendition at the Packers game and others tearing Jimmy Charles' to pieces. Norelle Simpson also killed it with her vocal chops at last night's Steelers-Bengals game.
What's been your favorite version of the national anthem this season?
