The bad injury news continued this weekend after a running back went down with a broken foot. New York Jets running back Elijah McGuire left Friday's practice with an injury.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported that McGuire suffered a broken foot. as a result, he'll need surgery and is a likely candidate for the IR.

If he's placed on the Injured Reserve, McGuire likely won't come back until midway though the season.

Here's more from Rapoport.

McGuire was a sixth-round selection by the Jets in the 2017 NFL draft. He put together three 1,000-yard seasons during his four years at Louisiana-Lafayette before entering the NFL.

During his rookie season, McGuire split time with Bilal Powell and Isaiah Crowell. The second-year man rushed for 315 yards and caught 17 passes for 177 yards and two total touchdowns during his rookie campaign.

Former Dallas Cowboys running back Alfred Morris was spotted at jets camp today. He'd be a solid replacement for McGuire, should the former Ragin Cajun miss significant time.
