NFL World Reacts To The Joe Burrow Contract News
The 2023 NFL offseason has been defined by massive contracts for elite quarterbacks.
First, it was Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts, who became the NFL's highest-paid player with his five-year, $255 million deal. A few days later, it was Lamar Jackson's turn with his five-year, $260 million contract.
Reports indicate that Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow is next to get paid, and he could be set to make more than both Hurts and Jackson.
According to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler, Burrow is set to become the highest-paid player in NFL history with his impending deal.
"I’m told the Bengals have made their initial push to sign Joe Burrow," Fowler said, noting that discussions between both sides have begun.
“Burrow will no doubt be the highest paid player in the NFL once his deal gets done.”
The NFL world is reacting to the news of Burrow's upcoming deal.
"Keeping him at any price is a team friendly deal," one fan said.
"I don't doubt it. Dude is trying to get generational wealth," another fan said. "I don't expect any young player to take a pay cut."
"Joey Big Bucks," one fan said. "He's worth every penny."
Burrow has completely turned around the Bengals' franchise since he arrived in 2020. Cincinnati has been to one Super Bowl with him, and nearly made another last season.
Whatever he's paid, it seems that it will be a wise investment on the Bengals' part.
