The former Rebels’ star is the last pick of the 2017 NFL Draft.
A picture went viral today of Ole Miss quarterback Chad Kelly looking bored on his couch waiting to be picked in the 2017 NFL Draft.
He had to wait a while.

Kelly, a standout performer at Ole Miss, did hear his name called on Saturday evening after all.
The Denver Broncos made Kelly “Mr. Irrelevant” taking him with the last pick in the 2017 NFL Draft.
With pick No. 253, the Broncos selected the Rebels quarterback.

Kelly, of course, is anything but “irrelevant.”
ESPN NFL analyst Bill Polian said he comes with “more baggage” than a five-car train.
Kelly, a top recruit, first attended Clemson, but was dismissed from the team after two seasons. After a stint at East Mississippi Community College (the JUCO football program that’s featured on Netflix’s Last Chance U) he committed to Ole Miss, where he played extremely well.
The nephew of former NFL quarterback Jim Kelly had a couple of off-the-field issues, though, getting arrested at a bar fight in Buffalo and getting into a scuffle at his brother’s high school football game.
Kelly wasn’t invited to the NFL Scouting Combine because of his off-the-field incidents. He’s also coming off some serious injuries – he tore his ACL at the end of the 2016 season.
The Broncos have a couple of young quarterbacks on their roster in Trevor Siemian and Paxton Lynch.
