Earlier: Pittsburgh Steelers running back Le'Veon Bell is the biggest name on the NFL free agent market this offseason. Even though Bell sat out the entire 2018 season, he is still going to attract plenty of attention from teams.

One of those squads will likely be the New York Jets. The Jets have ample cap space and need to surround their young franchise quarterback Sam Darnold with more talent. Bell fits the bill, as he'd become the Jets' best running back in a decade.

According to the New York Post's Brian Costello, Jets safety Jamal Adams has already begun to recruit Bell. Per Costello, Adams has reached out to Bell himself, but has yet to hear back.

That doesn't mean he's idly waiting around for Bell though. Adams reportedly had lunch with the running back's agent, Adisa Bakari, at the Pro Bowl last week.

Right now, the Jets have nearly $100 million in cap space, which leaves them plenty of room to sign Bell and pursue other free agent prizes. New York went 4-12 in 2018 and hasn't made the playoffs since 2010. However, with Darnold in the fold and lots of financial flexibility, there are reasons to be optimistic about the future of Gang Green. The Jets also own the No. 3 pick in the NFL Draft for the second year in a row, leaving them in position to take a top offensive lineman or edge rusher or trade down and acquire assets. Update: Adams' agent seemingly tried to downplay the lunch in Orlando.

Make of that what you will.
