Panthers Announce Bryce Young's Expected Status For Sunday
Bryce Young is off to a difficult start in his rookie season. The former Heisman trophy winner and No. 1 overall pick is winless in his first two starts against division opponents in the Falcons and Saints.
Young has shown flashes, but it's clear that he's going to need time to get used to the NFL.
To make matters worse, Young picked up an ankle injury in Monday night's loss to the Saints and it has caused him to miss multiple practices.
On Thursday, the Panthers announced that Young did not practice again and that he was not expected to play in this week's game against the Seahawks.
If Young can't play on Sunday, Andy Dalton will get the start for the Panthers. He started 14 games for the Saints last season, going 6-8 with 18 touchdowns and 9 interceptions.
The veteran will be tasked with trying to earn the first win of the season for the Panthers, who are already losing ground in the NFC South division race with the three other teams all at 2-0 to begin the year.
The Panthers traded wide receiver DJ Moore and several draft picks to the Bears in order to move up to No. 1 to take Young in this year's draft. Unfortunately, it seems that he's already dealing with an injury this early in his NFL career.
