It took nearly three total rounds, but Ole Miss quarterback Matt Corral finally heard his name called during the 2022 NFL draft.

He was swooped up by the Carolina Panthers with one of the last picks on Friday night. Carolina had been in the mix for former No. 1 overall pick Baker Mayfield, but selecting Corral changed all of that.

According to Panthers beat writer David Newton, the team is no longer interested in trading for the Cleveland Browns quarterback. "Panthers GM Scott Fitterer says getting Matt Corral takes him out of the market for a veteran, namely Baker Mayfield," he said on Twitter late Friday night.

It didn't take long for fans to start reacting to the news. Some are truly shocked that no team seems to want him.

"I don’t even really like Baker but good lord, it’s wild how teams are absolutely terrified of acquiring him," one fan said.

"Cleveland won’t be able to give Baker away at this point," another fan said.

It certainly seems like the landing spots for Baker Mayfield are starting to run out.

If not Carolina, where will he land?
