Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs will not be playing in the Super Bowl this year, as the AFC's top seed fell in the conference championship game.

The Chiefs fell to the New England Patriots in overtime.

The Patriots won the coin toss and Tom Brady led New England's offense on a long, AFC title-clinching drive.

Kansas City's star quarterback, Patrick Mahomes, was forced to watch all of this from the bench. The NFL's probable MVP didn't get to touch the ball in the most-important quarter of his season.

It was brutal to watch (unless you're a Patriots fan, of course).

Mahomes and the Chiefs have a ton of young talent, so no one would be surprised if Kansas City is back in the AFC Championship Game next season, but this loss is going to take a while to get over - especially for head coach Andy Reid.

The Patriots, meanwhile, are set to take on the Los Angeles Rams in the Super Bowl in Atlanta in two weeks.

Los Angeles has opened as a 1-point favorite over New England heading into the Super Bowl.

Who will you be taking?
