Earlier this week, the New England Patriots traded for one of the most-physically gifted wide receivers in the NFL today. While Josh Gordon's production on the field has been lacking, there's no question he's a weapon when healthy.
New England sent a fifth-round pick to the Cleveland Browns in return for Gordon and a seventh-round pick. It's a bold move for the Patriots, who has struggled through the first two weeks of the season - especially at the wide receiver position.
In discussing the trade today, NBC Sports analyst Peter King said the Patriots should not "be in business" with Josh Gordon claiming the wide receiver is not "worthy" of the franchise.
He got crushed for his comments.
The obvious reaction is to point to Aaron Hernandez, who the Patriots drafted out of Florida despite the clear warning signs. New England has also brought in questionable players like Michael Floyd as well.
Gordon is active for the Patriots game against Detroit. The Patriots and Lions kick off on Sunday night.
