Nick Sirianni Announces Plan For Saquon Barkley In Week 18

Philadelphia Eagles running back Saquon Barkley eclipsed 2,000 rushing yards on Sunday, becoming just the ninth running back in NFL history to accomplish that feat.

He helped the Eagles clinch the NFC East title with a win over the Dallas Cowboys, finishing with 31 carries for 167 yards and two touchdowns.

He only needs 101 rushing yards to break Eric Dickerson's single-season rushing record but Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni is still unsure if he will play him since he may want to save him for the playoffs.

It's a decision that Sirianni told the media that he'll make once he speaks to everyone.

"I'll talk to our staff. I'll talk to the players. I'll talk to (general manager) Howie (Roseman). I'll talk to Mr. Lurie. I'll talk to everybody to try and make sure I'm making the best decision for the football team," Sirianni said in an interview with 94WIP in Philadelphia

While the record is obviously a big deal, having Barkley healthy for the playoffs is an even bigger deal. The Eagles are trying to win a Super Bowl and have a great shot at it considering how deep they are on both sides of the ball.

They'll be the No. 2 seed in the NFC so they really have nothing to play for since the winner of the Vikings-Lions Sunday Night Football game will win the NFC North and be the top seed in the NFC.

The Eagles will end the regular season against the New York Giants at home. They're looking to sweep the season series and end the regular season on a high note heading into the playoffs.

We'll see if Sirianni decides to play Barkley for at least a quarter or a half.

Kickoff for that contest will be at 1 p.m. ET.
