Back in March, Rob Gronkowski announced that he would retire from the NFL. The All-Pro tight end hinted at the move in years past, but some fans still thought he'd consider returning to the New England Patriots.

Despite battling several injuries throughout his career, Gronkowski put together an outstanding career full of championships and jaw-dropping statistics.

In his final NFL season, Gronkowski played a major role in helping the Patriots win another ring. He made clutch receptions in both the AFC Championship and Super Bowl.

Throughout the offseason, the idea that Gronkowski would come out of retirement didn't seem too far-fetched.

Unfortunately for fans wanting to see Gronkowski on the gridiron again, it appears the charismatic star is officially retired.

Photos of Gronkowski are circulating on social media, and the main thing standing out to everyone is that he lost a decent amount of weight.
