The Steelers are coming off a huge 17-12 win over the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday. Pittsburgh is getting dangerous as the team is in the midst of a four game winning streak. Mike Tomlin's squad is now 5-4.
Four straight wins has sparked plenty of momentum for the organization. And it appears that momentum will grow stronger this week.
Running back James Conner has missed the Steelers' last two games due to a separated shoulder. But a new report suggests the Pittsburgh running back will return to action this week with a strong likelihood of playing this Thursday.
“We feel comfortable about his availability, but we have to get through the week,” Tomlin said, via the Post Gazette.
This would be a huge momentum boost for an offense needing a spark. But even without Conner, the Steelers have managed to win some close battles, relying on their defense to lead them to victory.
Having Conner back should take some of the pressure off rookie QB Mason Rudolph. The first year QB was thrust into action after veteran Ben Roethlisberger suffered a season ending injury in week 2.
In seven games this season, Conner has 380 rushing yards and 236 receiving yards. He's scored six total touchdowns so far this season.
It looks like the Steelers will finally have their dynamic back this week.
