Raiders vs. Broncos preview:
The worst possible news for the Raiders came in last week's game when Derek Carr broke his fibula. The budding star quarterback broke the bone in his lower leg and will be out for the rest of the season. Now, Matt McGloin, a former Penn State quarterback must guide the Raiders to the promised land. The silver lining in Carr's injury is that it came with one game left to play. Now McGloin will have a full game to get ready for the playoffs.
Denver's season is over. A year removed from its their Super Bowl victory, the Broncos will not make the playoffs. Head coach Gary Kubiak announced that Paxton Lynch will get some time at quarterback, yet Trevor Siemian will remain the starter. Are the Broncos throwing in the towel? Regardless, it will be good practice for Lynch to see some NFL action before the season ends.
Raiders vs. Broncos prediction:
A few factors make this one tough to call. Does Denver want to win? How will McGloin perform?
Denver's defense still provides and elite pass rush, and with Matt McGloin playing in his first real contest this season, the Broncos won't take it easy on him.
