Report: Colts, Broncos Have Discussed Wide Receiver Trade
The Denver Broncos are 1-5, and it appears that they have no hope of making the playoffs. With that in mind, it appears they are exploring their options ahead of the NFL's October 31 trade deadline.
According to writer Destin Adams, the Broncos have discussed a trade involving wide receiver Jerry Jeudy with the Indianapolis Colts.A
Adams says that no deal has been agreed to, but that the teams have advanced beyond preliminary discussions.
Jeudy was drafted by the Broncos in 2020 with the No. 15 pick, and he was expected to be the Broncos' receiver of the future.
That hasn't happened yet, and he's failed to establish a consistent chemistry with quarterback Russell Wilson.
Many fans and analysts believe that Jeudy would do well with a fresh start, and he would get one if the Colts were to trade for him.
With a young quarterback in Anthony Richardson and several other talented players around him, Jeudy could potentially find a better spot for himself in Indianapolis once Richardson is healthy again.
The Broncos have discussed trading Jeudy before, but teams felt their asking price was too high. With the Broncos now desperate to improve and acquire draft capital, that price has likely changed.
The discount may be all the Colts need to facilitate a deal for the young receiver.
