Former NFL great Ed McCaffrey reportedly has a new job.

After coaching at Valor Christian High School in Highlands Ranch, Colorado for two seasons, McCaffrey will reportedly take over as the new head coach at Northern Colorado, according to a report from Football Scoop.

McCaffrey will take over for former head coach Earnest Collins, who led the Bears for nine seasons. During his time at his alma mater, Collins had just two winning seasons and had a record of 28-72.

Here's the news from Football Scoop.

McCaffrey was a standout wide receiver at Stanford where he was an All-American in 1990. The New York Giants drafted McCaffrey in the third round of the 1991 NFL draft.

He was a three-time Super Bowl champion - once with the San Francisco 49ers and twice with the Denver Broncos. McCaffrey racked up 565 receptions for nearly 7,500 yards and 55 touchdowns.

Valor Christian went 10-2 under McCaffrey this season, but fell to Columbine High School in the second round of the CHSAA playoffs. Although he hasn't coached elsewhere, McCaffrey showed he can do well on the field and on the sidelines.

The youngest of the four McCaffrey boys, Luke, graduated from Valor in 2019 - and now his dad is headed to Northern Colorado.
