Report: Giants Make Decision On Head Coach Brian Daboll
2023 has been a nightmare for head coach Brian Daboll and the New York Giants.
After a surprising 2022 season in which they appeared to be one of the league's emerging young teams, 2023 quickly went in a different direction.
From injuries to poor play to various mistakes and mishaps, the Giants have several reasons to point to when it comes to their abysmal 2-8 record this season.
The Giants' season has caused many to wonder if the team would move on from Daboll after just two seasons in charge.
On Wednesday, one NFL insider says that's unlikely to happen.
According to Bleacher Report's Jordan Schultz, the Giants plan to bring back Daboll, general manager Joe Schoen and quarterback Daniel Jones.
There are many reasons for the Giants to keep Daboll, as he led them to a playoff appearance and win last season in his debut with the team. He was named the NFL's Coach of the Year for his effort in 2022.
The Giants were able to upset the Vikings in the playoffs last season, a win that some felt signified their arrival among the best teams in the conference.
This season, the Giants have been hit hard by injuries. Jones is out for the year with a knee issue, while the offensive line seems to shuffle in new members on a weekly basis.
Daboll may be returning, but the team he will inherit in 2024 could look a lot different depending on what Schoen and the front office decides to do in the offseason.
