Report: Several Teams Have Reached Out To Calvin Johnson

Will Calvin Johnson remain retired?

Retired star wide receiver Calvin Johnson set the internet ablaze this week as he attended Miami Dolphins training camp for a few days.

He did so as a spectator, but many around the NFL community couldn't help but wonder if Johnson is thinking about a comeback.

The former No. 2 overall pick dominated the NFL for nine seasons, failing to reach 1,000 receiving yards in just two of those seasons.

According to Mike Freeman of Bleacher Report, "half-dozen" teams have contacted Johnson about a return.

According to a number of NFL sources, at least a half-dozen teams have reached out to retired wide receiver Calvin Johnson to gauge whether he would consider returning to the field, but Johnson has said no. Still, the attempts to convince Johnson to make a comeback have been fairly fierce.

Johnson seems to be enjoying his retirement for the time being. Even is he does return to the NFL, the Detroit Lions still hold his rights, so the team would have to trade Johnson, much like the Seattle Seahawks dealt Marshawn Lynch.
