New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski called Sunday night's win over the Kansas City Chiefs one of the most-satisfying wins of his career.
Gronkowski, who didn't do much in the passing game in the AFC's Divisional Round, played a bigger role Sunday night in Kansas City. The star tight end continued to dominate in the running game, too, making a number of big blocks.
“It’s just basically what the doctor orders,” Gronkowski said of his game. “Or what the coach orders–coach/doctor orders. Whatever it is. I have to block, I have to receive. It’s crucial. The team depends on me in many situations in the run game and in the pass game. I’ve just been fighting all year long so when situations come like this I’m ready to go and ready to make some plays. So whatever coaches ask me to do I’m always down to try my best and give it my all.”
Gronkowski called the win one of the best of his career after the game.
“It was one of the sweeter victories, definitely, in my career,” Gronkowski said.
Gronkowski had some special people in the stands watching his performance.
Camille Kostek, the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit model girlfriend of the star tight end, posted a heartfelt message after the game.
"#notdone STILL HERE ? OFF TO THE SHIP BABY," she wrote.
Gronkowski and the Patriots are now off to the Super Bowl, where they'll take on the Los Angeles Rams.
New England and Los Angeles are set to kick off at 6:30 p.m. E.T. on Feb. 3. The game will be on CBS.
